Developing your textile skills
Due to unforeseen circumstances this course has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in Autumn term 5 weeks,Tuesdays 18.15-20.15pm Full Course Cost: £150.00 (including basic materials) One Session £30 Tutor: Fiona Muller This course further introduces textiles techniques and processes used by textiles artists, designers and crafters, and is delivered as a series of workshops building up a range of samples that can be transformed into a final textile piece. No experience is necessary - Whether you are a textile fan or just want to try your hand at something new everyone is welcome! All you need is an enthusiasm to experiment and have a go! 1. Creating backgrounds using various textile techniques 2. Using linocut technique to create a block. 3. Repeat pattern Continue with Lino Cutting and printing a sample 4. Surface pattern techniques - embroidery, print, applique, felt making, resist dyeing 5. Textiles Introductory Course

We will explore different textile process building up a range of samples that will be transformed into a final textile piece. No experience is necessary - Whether you are a textile fan or just want to try your hand at something new everyone is welcome! All you need is an enthusiasm to experiment and have a go! 1. Felt making- using wool looking at different types of wet felting and working to discover how to embed objects within the felt as well as construct several pieces 2. Repeat pattern using linocut technique to create a block. 3. Locker hooking - Rag rug making 4. Introduction to machine embroidery and hand embroidery - Using embroidery to develop surface embellishment 5.
