Professional Development Course
18th April - 23rd May 2017
Course Cost £180.00
Take a creative risk... get your work out there!
This course is all about supporting artists (both experienced and newly emerging) to get their work out in the public arena.
We have two high visibility exhibition opportunities for our 2017 cohort, both in the city and further afield.
Through practical activities, Artpocket tutors will support you to develop your creative practise. You will be encouraged to explore a range of media relevant to your ideas and concepts.
You will develop a body of work to a high standard and present this within a professional arena.
You will gain skills in collaboration, team work and begin to make links with like-minded professionals both on the course and beyond.
As a group you will work to a common theme for an exhibition.
You will work together to produce marketing materials, publicity and organise the curation of the public exhibition. You will explore methods of mounting, presenting and displaying your work.
Individually you will explore, develop and refine a body of work that reflects your own line of interest and subject specialism.
You will be supported in the development of your work and ideas through practical exploration, 1-1 tutorials, peer discussion and critical debate.
As practising artists and designers you will also be introduced to methods of self promotion, such as business cards and postcards, and guided in terms of selling work and networking.
Join us, and get your work out there now!
"It has been such a joy to get involved with Artpocket. I’ve been taking part in their Art Direction course over the past few months and it has revived and renewed my creative practice. I’ve got a background in the arts and in teaching but I hadn’t really made or done anything for myself for a while and was feeling low in confidence, frustrated and very rusty! Becky and Hannelore create a safe, supportive space in which to experiment, develop new skills or refresh old ones and are great at both encouraging and stretching you. As a result I am enjoying making again and have even felt brave enough to enter Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios this May! "
